Fine Day for a Farmers Market

Thursday, April 9, 2015

There's a cute little city near us that holds a weekly farmers markets on Saturday mornings. I've been two weeks in a row now and I'm going to make an effort to try and go as often as I can. It is so fun to support local farmers and I have so much fun shopping there vs. the grocery store. Grocery shopping is my absolute least favorite chore. I've always joked about hiring a personal shopper to do it for us.

At the market I bought butternut squash, sweet potatoes, asparagus, strawberries, onions, grass fed beef, and sourdough bread. I've never actually tried cooking butternut squash or sweet potatoes but I like them both so figured I would try and make some baby food out of them. As a heads up to anyone going to a farmers market... BRING CASH! I went the first time without any cash on me so I only bought from vendors that took plastic which seemed to not be very many haha. I just assumed that nowadays everyone takes plastic but I was clearly wrong on that one. Also I feel a little embarrassed to say this but there was this lady I got talking to and she was so nice and helpful that I felt like I should buy something from her. She was selling tomato plants and I figured what the heck... If I can grow a person why not try growing a tomato. Let's just say that that tomato is no longer... I immediately forgot about it when I came home and a week later had to throw it out :( One of these days I will learn about gardening but not anytime soon I guess.

Anyways I had such a fun time shopping around that I will definitely head back! Are there any farmers markets near you? Also have you ever tried growing anything yourself, because tips would be appreciated :)

Love y'all!

Dressed For Comfort

Monday, March 17, 2014

Happy St. Patricks day everyone. I am a big believer in wearing green on this holiday because who likes to get pinched. Well ever since I got engaged and my husband gave me a green amethyst I never have to worry about getting pinched anymore!!! But that still didn't stop me from wearing my bright green pants today to work.

I hope everyone had a great and relaxing weekend like I did. I get so sad when it's over. Here's to another work week I guess!

This weeks outfit post is so comfortable. For me this is the perfect shirt for going out or camping or even sleeping haha it's so darn comfortable!!

I got this shirt from toAdorn, check them out on Facebook www.facebook.com/toadorn.
They are an awesome daily deals site where you can get boutique style clothes for a super affordable price!

Old Navy Sale

Monday, March 3, 2014

This weekend Old Navy was having a great denim jeans sale. I definitely took advantage of this because the one pair of denim jeans that I actually wear have a revealing hole that keeps on growing. This weekend jeans were starting at $15 so Darin got a pair for $15 and I got a pair for $20. Needless to say that advertising really works on the Hiatt's because I found out about this sale on one of my pandora ads.

This weekend was very relaxing and I hate that it is over but here's to another work week! Also, I wanted to announce the winners of the Beth Bender Beauty Giveaway! Ashley won the Girls Night Out Kit and Alina won the a la carte kit! They have been contacted by Kade @ BlondeBellezza!

Sweater Weather

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

This weekend I went to the Build Your Blog Conference in Salt Lake and my brain is still on overload from all of the blogging tips that I learned.

The most important thing that I learned over the weekend though is what kind of blogger I want to be. I just want to be real for my readers. Someone that my followers, readers, and friends can truly relate to. Just your average girl that wants to share some of her insights and favorite things with the world and be her true self in the light of it all.

I also realized that I want this blog to be a healthy lifestyle blog because nothing gives me more satisfaction than helping others be healthier. However, I also want to be able to share my personal style and my life for those readers who want to just hear about how my little family is doing.

I got this sweater at Banana Republic over the Christmas break and I have already outworn it. It is just so incredibly comfortable and warm. I love that it keeps me warm enough so I don't have to wear a coat outside in this warmer winter that we are having here in Utah right now. Also, Darin is still learning how to photograph the outfit pics so that's why my feet are cut off in these pics :) he's so awesome for helping me out though!

Even though the weather is getting warm enough for sweaters instead of bulky coats, I cannot wait to getaway to St. George this weekend where the weather is supposed to be in the 70's. PARADISE. Hope everyone else has fun plans for their Presidents Day Weekend :)

Comment below and leave your website so I can get to know you! Love y'all!
