Cohen's 6 Months

Thursday, April 16, 2015

These pictures are getting harder to take every month. It was so easy when he was a newborn and he would lay perfectly still but now he squirms so much and the minute I put the sticker on he starts attacking it. I have been saving the stickers to use on baby #2 but the 6 month sticker is so wrinkled now that I am giving up!

These past six months have been so fun! I love watching him discover the world around him. I can't believe that he's already half a year old. Time goes by so quickly now that we have a baby. I just love him so so much and I love that he's growing and so healthy but I can't help but wish that he would stay like this forever.

Weight: We will find out at his appointment on Monday but my guess is about 15 lbs

Height: TBD on Monday :)

Medical: Cohen got his 3rd cold this month poor baby and this time he passed it on to me so we were sickies together.

Sleep: We put Cohen down between 7:00 and 8:00 and then he normally wakes up around 7:00 and 8:00 and nurses once or twice in the middle of the night. As far as naps go he naps 3 times a day and they average 45 minutes.

Clothes: He still wears 6 month size and 3-6 month sizes.

Diapers: Pampers size 2

Diet: breast milk & avocado and he seems to love it

Baby Gear Love: he seems to be over his own toys and more interested in things like Tupperware or anything mom is grabbing. It's so fun to watch him just play with tupperware during tummy time and try to reach as far as he can to grab it since he can't crawl yet.

Firsts: first time holding his own bottle (doesn't have bottles very often but when he does he loves to take over), first time to the beach (which he slept through), first time sitting in a shopping cart, first time on a swing at the park

Milestones: he can sit up by himself. I can't leave him unattended though because he still topples over here and there. Also he has a second tooth now! His little gummy grin is sporting two new pearly whites and it's the cutest thing ever.

Likes: going to baby sign or baby story time with other babies at the local libraries---> he LOVES this, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and other cartoons, playing with daddy

Dislikes: being held by anyone other than Darin and I, putting his feet in a cold pool, when uncle Jon plays the sax over skype

Cohen doesn't seem to like it when uncle Jon plays Jazz on his saxophone

Things I want to remember:
-Cohen is going through a "stranger danger" phase so when we pass him over to someone else to be held and he can still see us he sticks his bottom lip out and cries, it's the cutest thing I've ever seen
-he flails his right arm in the air up and down over and over, it's so funny to watch and even better when he has an object in his hand like a burp cloth or toy
-the way he chews on his hands like crazy and also he found his thumb this month and sucks on that now to help him fall asleep when "bink" (binky) falls out

Cohen, we are so blessed to have you. You seriously make our life so wonderful. We LOVE YOU!
