Bumpdate #3

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

Disclaimer: This picture was taken at 28 weeks since I felt that was a monumental moment! Third trimester time! Also please forgive the poor picture quality.

How Far Along: 29 Weeks

Size of Baby: Chinese Cabbage

Weight Gain: 22 lbs as of last week. They said I probably still have a solid 10 more to go. Woo hoo!

Symptoms: I feel like I have started to have some Braxton Hicks but I can't tell quite yet. It's just like a tightening feeling across my belly that only lasts a few seconds. Also, still peeing a lot, I don't think that one will ever go away. Now that I am in my third trimester too I feel so tired all of the time. It's like I'm in trimester #1 all over again but this time with a noticeable belly.

Maternity Clothes: Yes, yes, yes. They are glorious. I love the way that they flatter the belly rather than just make the bottom of my tops stick out. I don't have much just a few shirts, swim suit, and a pair of shorts but I just ordered a dress for my brother in law's wedding next month and a few other tops and can't wait for that to arrive!

Gender: I feel redundant posting this one every time but in case you haven't heard... it's a boy :) This lady at church the other day asked me what it was and when I told her it's a boy she said that she could tell by the way I was carrying the baby. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? haha

Movement: Since my last Bumpdate post I realized that I have felt him so much. What used to feel like flutters just a week ago have now progressed to much stronger jabs and punches. Which is good cause he's getting bigger! I am not going to lie though, they kind of catch me off guard a little bit since before the movements were so soft and twitchy like.

Food Cravings: Haven't had any strong cravings lately except for maybe smoothies which I have a lot of!

Sleep: Definitely getting more uncomfortable now. I don't have a pregnancy pillow, which I hear can help, but up until now I really haven't needed one and still feel that I don't. I try to sleep in a position at night that allows my uterus to fall forward after a day on my feet "Bradley Sleep Position". Luckily it's basically how I already slept before so I haven't had to make many adjustments. Also sleep is still being interrupted by bathroom breaks but it doesn't bother me so much anymore. Now it's just weird if it doesn't happen.

Belly Button: I can't believe how different my belly button looks. It's basically like 80% outie now and you can sometimes see it through my clothes.

What I Miss: Being able to bend over without my stomach getting in the way.

What I Look Forward To: This trimester brings a season of baby showers and getting together Baby Hiatt's stuff. I can't wait to buy it all and shop for it!

What Daddy Looks Forward To: Our birthing class that starts next month.... :) Haha yeah right. But maybe once it gets closer he will be more excited for it.

  1. Haha. Darin excited for birthing class? I think not. :)
I'm so glad things are going well! Enjoy the baby moving inside of you while you can; I was just thinking about how I'm actually going to miss that once my baby is born because it reminds me that I'm needed and that I'm the source of protection, nourishment, and love for my child while he's in the womb. So, with every kick and nudge to the ribs, I try to be grateful. :)
