I have a blog?

What?

I must have forgotten that I am a blogger for about a week because there is an empty space since April 28th. Truth is life has been crazy!

Last week was my first week at my internship with Y Be Fit. I am currently interning as a health coach there and it is so fun. Since it was my first week, I was doing a lot of shadowing and training. Last week also marked my first week of Leadership at my job. I have been working at LDS Philanthropies for almost two and a half years now but, I am now in a leadership position and I had training for that last week as well.

Talk about OVERLOAD. On top of that school started again last week. Because it is spring term, there is about 8 weeks to learn 16 weeks of material. These are my last few classes of my public health coursework and these classes require a lot of time and attention.

I hope that explains the huge gap in the blog!

ON ANOTHER NOTE:

I have been pretty hard on myself lately feeling like I am a failure because of silly things like the laundry piling up and the dishes that NEVER END, and the blog posts that get skipped. However, yesterday at church I realized that all of these negative thoughts are coming from the adversary. He wants me to feel that I am a failure and to be surrounded by negative thoughts about myself and by allowing these negative thoughts I am letting him win.

I then made the decision to look at my daily accomplishments with positivity and think of all of the things that I have done in one day. This is the way that Christ would want me to see myself.

I want to encourage people, women in particular, to think about their little daily accomplishments and achievements. Use these positive feelings to build your self-esteem rather than focusing on all of the things that you didn't get done. This will only create added stress and disappointment and these are feelings that don't help us to be productive.

Things that I accomplished today:

  • I woke up at 5:30 this morning to finish up some reading for class today
  • I made time to do my hair and make-up
  • I had class for 5 hours
  • I turned in my weekly internship log
  • Made a salad for lunch
  • Went to a work meeting
  • Set some goals to accomplish at work
  • Did the dishes
  • Did the dishes again
  • Cooked dinner (Huevos Rancheros)
  • Worked out
  • Swept the floor
  • Washed the bed sheets

Old Attitude!!!

New Attitude!!!

I hope this helps to inspire women out there that it is okay to not get everything on your checklist for that day done. It is okay to take breaks and just breathe. It is okay to just enjoy life and relax. And most importantly it is okay that you are not perfect. It is your imperfections that make you beautiful! :)

Have a wonderful week everyone.

  1. You are great! I can totally relate to this!! I always feel guilty for not posting outfits, not cleaning, not going to the bank, etc. when they aren't things that are that big of a deal and time sensitive. I need to focus more on the positive and what I do during the day!
