Cohen's 8 Months

Monday, June 22, 2015

Weight: 17 pounds 5 ounces

Height: 26 inches (at 6 months) I'm guessing he's at least grown an inch since then!

Medical: More teething!

Sleep: He sleeps around 12 hours at night only waking once to nurse (with the exception of the past few nights).
Napping is still difficult. Sometimes when I put him down for his nap when he's tired, he refuses to go down and then get's a second wind of energy. He naps at least twice a day sometimes three. I think he's just having a hard time since we've been out of town for almost all of June.

Clothes: He wears 9 month size clothes!

Diapers: Pampers swaddlers size 3

Diet: Breast milk, avocado, sweet potato, carrots, butternut squash, banana, apples, greek yogurt, blueberries, oatmeal, chicken, zucchini, pasta, bread, rice, cauliflower

Baby Gear Love: He likes sitting in his highchair so he can see things from our height, he likes the jumperoo for a few minutes but not for more than about 10 minutes, his squishy blocks, and anything that is not a toy is basically what he's into right now.

Firsts: First time swimming in a cold pool, first top teeth, first time meeting great grandpa C

Milestones: Crawling and pulling himself up to a standing position, this was a big month for development!

Likes: Water bottles, eating food, remote controls, Daniel Tiger, flicking his wrists

Dislikes: Manly men (tall men with deep voices), getting dressed, getting ready for bed

Things I want to remember:
-Cohen sticks his arms out and spazzes when he gets excited (Grandpa says it looks like Jack Sparrow)
-He gets really angry upset if you take something away from him
-He loves all foods he's tried so far except for peaches
-The way he flicks his wrist

This past month Cohen's personality has shined through so well! He is so playful and reacts to faces really well and also waits to see the reaction on others faces. He gets frustrated with himself when he can't do something that he wants to do, and other times he gets really excited and proud of himself when he does something difficult. He gets really excited when I sign and say milk because he knows exactly what's coming. If I don't hurry then he gets upset.

Cohen, you are such a joy in our lives. I know I say this all of the time, but we are SO blessed to have you. I can't imagine life without you baby boy. You are loved!
