Avocado Mac and Cheese or Pinterest. Click on either of these to find the original recipe. Remember this is not my recipe just my review on it :)

Here we go:

This is all you need! Simple as pie.

First step, boil water for your pasta. When water is boiling add the following ingredient.

10 ounces dry elbow macaroni --> I usually try to find a whole wheat macaroni but sometimes it can be hard to find

Side Note: I never use 10 ounces, my bag had 16 ounces and I just used the whole thing. I like leftovers!

Next add the following ingredients  to the blender and mix until smooth.

2 cloves garlic --> Crush you garlic in a garlic mincer
2 avocados --> Make sure to remove the pit and peel the avocado before using, of course you know this already :)
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Salt and pepper, to taste --> I never use this step, food naturally has sodium why add more?

Next to make the cheese sauce simply follow these photos:

Translated into words: Melt butter, whisk in flour, whisk in milk, whisk in cheese. Whisk, I apologize if that is not a word. Here are the ingredients for this step:

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
2 cups shredded Pepper Jack cheese --> I used cheddar jack this time around because I hate  how spicy pepper jack cheese can be

Next just drain pasta, add avocado sauce to pasta, stir, add cheese sauce to pasta, stir, eat your heart out.

Because I already had most of these ingredients I only spent $5.18 on this meal and it fed four different mouths. Mine, my husbands, and the Tanner Fam. We still have more in the fridge as well!

Side note: On Monday's the Tanner's (best friend couple) make dinner for us, and then we return the favor on Tuesday's. You should start a dinner group too! It is fun and saves time and money.

My ratings on a scale of 10, 10 being best of course:

Easiness: 8, It is not difficult at all, just requires time and multiple steps
Taste: 9, I love this stuff, it is so delicious and my husband loves it too! I think the flavor could have been stronger if I would have used less pasta, but like I said, I love leftovers.
Time: 8, If I wouldn't have taken pictures then this recipe would have taken me thirty minutes or less from start to finish. With any recipe though, if it is your first time, plan to spend more time on it.
Nutritional Status: 6, I like that it is a healthier alternative to an All American favorite, but at the same time cheese is a source of saturated fats.*

Hope this helps for anyone wanting to try this one... I definitely recommend it 100%

*Saturated fats increase LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol). Balance this meal out by eating a food high in HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol) such as an apple for dessert.
Just some food for thought... literally.
