Coming Back With A Bang

Thursday, April 10, 2014

It's been a while since this blog has been shown much love but I am here today coming back with a bang.

It's True! We are having a baby boy or girl due October 14th! We are beyond happy.

Here's our story... well part of it:

We agreed to start trying to have a baby in October of 2013 because I would be graduating in just two months and Darin had already graduated so we felt it was the right time to start trying.

At first, I didn't care that it didn't happen right away but by November, I was already ready to be pregnant and each month it was a disappointment when I wasn't. The reason I was so anxious was because it took my mother 7 years to get pregnant and I was scared I would be the same way.

Four months later, it happened!

Aunt flow was supposed to come to town on February 12th but on February 5th I had a dream that I took a test and it was negative but in the dream I was pregnant. My dreams are usually pretty intuitive so I took a test that morning and it was negative and I was so disappointed. I was comforted though when I felt like it was super early because I wasn't supposed to start for another six days.

That weekend I went to the blogging conference in Salt Lake and I was just not feeling good at all. I had no clue why but one friend kept saying that I had to be pregnant and I kept reassuring her that that clearly wasn't true due to the negative result I had just two days before.

Then after getting back from the conference I had a dream that night that I took a test and it was positive so when I woke up the next morning, I was super excited to take another test! Darin told me to be patient and wait until the 12th when aunt flow was supposed to come. That was a whole 3 days wait!

Wednesday February 12th was probably the second most exciting day of my life after getting married! I woke up that morning and before I was even awake enough to think clearly I grabbed that test, peed on the stick, set my timer for three minutes, and then glanced down at it on the floor.

The next hour my heart was pounding so hard, I didn't even know what to do.
